Print a configuration page by using the front panel of the printer to go to the Information menu or the Test menu and find the Print Configuration or the Self Test. External HP Jetdirects simply have a test button on the top or the back of the HP Jetdirect. Plotters vary even more - their configuration pages are usually under the Utilities menu and are called Service Print, Service Config, or Config Plot. NOTE: The HP LaserJet 2100 and 2200 series printers will print a Configuration Page when you press both buttons on top of the printer simultaneously.
Most HP printers can be reset to factory defaults (or cold-reset) by turning the printer off and holding down the ONLINE or GO button while turning the printer back on. The printer control panel display should read "Cold Reset" or "Restoring Factory Settings" or something similar. The factory default IP address is 192.0.0.192.
To cold reset an HP Jetdirect external print server, unplug the power cord from the HP Jetdirect device, then hold down the TEST button for five to 30 seconds while plugging in the power cord.
Most HP Designjet plotters cannot reset an HP Jetdirect device. HP Jetadmin can be used to reset the IPX/SPX settings; Telnet can be used to reset the TCP/IP settings. However, the HP Designjet 1050c and 1055cm printers have a reset option in the menus of the control panel
